💡 Anecdotes for description
The pioneer label: Vee-Jay was the first major independent label run by African-Americans (Vivian Carter and James Bracken). Owning a copy "Advance Sample" is a direct testimony to the Chicago music industry before the Motown era.A "Deep Soul" sound: Barbara Jackson delivers an intense vocal performance here. "Second Best" is an iconic title of Soul sound from the early 60's: powerful, orchestral and full of emotion.Promotional scarcity: These copies were sent exclusively to radios before the official release of the disc. Many have been destroyed or lost, making the survivors very valuable.
A Northern Soul classic, often compiled with the greatest female voices of the 60's
